Type of works: Fire - Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs)
We were commissioned by our client to upgrade the automatic opening ventilation system and to supply, install and commission a networked analogue addressable fire alarm system to the multiple block premise. This consisted of twin automatic opening vent chambers, a stairwell vent, and a control panel on each of the seven floors of the seven blocks. These AOV control units were interfaced into an analogue addressable fire alarm control panel with smoke detection sensors on each floor in each block.
The porters lodge has a multi zone master analogue addressable fire alarm control panel which controls the cause and effect interlocks of the AOV units, and also signals the fire and rescue service. The porters also may remotely open / close all the AOV units as required providing control for the fire and rescue service.
Project completed January 2019.
